Saint James Church is located in Lakewood, Ohio, USA and is part of the Diocese of Cleveland. The church was founded in 1908 and is the founding parish for Lakewood and Rocky River.
Saint James Church is a living testimony to the dedication and hard work of a community that wanted to build a house of worship conveying its love and gratitude to God. The church contains the story of the community's faith and appreciation of God gifts. Saint James is filled with symbolic decorations and details that make the church an exquisite example of sacred art.
Saint James Church is an irreplaceable community asset and a significant cultural and architectural treasure for the region.
In March 2009 Bishop Richard G. Lennon announced over 50 church closings, including Saint James Church.
The Friends of Saint James was founded to stop the plan to close our church.

We, the members of Friends of Saint James / Save Saint James, are committed to the preservation of Saint James as a parish and an architecturally significant structure in the city of Lakewood. We dedicate ourselves to the development of a long range financial plan for capital improvements and maintenance of the church and its programs. With God’s help, we will achieve what is best for all those touched by the Saint James family.
